Ontario HCP Stream Silent Since January — Is It Still Alive in 2026?

Hey everyone — just wanted to check in because I’ve been sitting on a January 2026 Ontario HCP application with zero updates. No email, no portal change, nothing. It’s May now, and I’m starting to wonder if the stream is just… paused.

I’ve seen a few posts from others in the same boat. The HCP stream was already tightened in late 2025, but this year feels different. No new invitations, no public updates, and even the OINP website doesn’t mention any changes. It’s like the system went quiet.

So I’m reaching out to ask:
- Has anyone received a Notification of Interest (NOI) from HCP in 2026 so far?
- Is it worth waiting for HCP, or should I shift focus to the Masters Graduate Stream instead?
- If you’re still waiting, what’s your backup plan — like applying to Atlantic provinces or exploring other PNP routes?

A few quick things to verify first if you’re in limbo:
- Confirm your application status is still “Under Review” in the portal
- Double-check that your profile details (work experience, language scores, etc.) haven’t changed
- Make sure you haven’t missed any OINP email updates in spam or junk folders
- Review if you still meet the HCP eligibility criteria (e.g., job offer, education, language)
- Check if Ontario’s broader PNP intake has shifted to other streams

The bottom line: we’re all in the same boat right now. No one’s getting official word, and no one’s making promises. But if you’re waiting, don’t just sit idle. Review your options. Some folks are exploring Atlantic provinces — which might offer faster processing, even if the cost of living is higher.

Let’s keep each other updated. Share your experience, even if it’s just “still nothing.” It helps us all feel less alone.

Hey everyone, if you're wondering whether the Ontario HCP Stream is still active, the first thing to check is the official Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) website—specifically the “Current Streams” section. Look for any mention of the HCP Stream under the Human Capital Priorities category. If it's listed as active, there should be a clear description of eligibility, application dates, and required documents. Even if it's not listed, don’t assume it’s dead—sometimes streams pause temporarily for processing or updates. A key sign it’s still alive is if the OINP continues to accept Express Entry profiles from HCP-eligible occupations. To stay ahead, create a checklist of your documents: job offer letter (if applicable), language test results, educational credential assessment, and proof of work experience. Keep this ready so you can act fast if the stream reopens.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a thought—what would actually change whether this stream is still active? If the Ontario government has quietly shifted focus to employer-led pathways or updated job demand lists, that could explain the silence. The key detail that’d make a difference is whether your specific NOC code and work experience still align with the latest in-demand occupations in the province. I’d suggest double-checking the official Ontario immigration website for any recent updates on priority sectors or new stream criteria. Even if the HCP Stream isn’t listed, there might be a new version under a different name. A quick review of your NOC’s current status in Ontario’s labor market could help clarify if you’re still in the running. What’s your NOC code? That might tell us more than the stream name itself.
